We are honored to offer Hampton Roads, Chesapeake, Portsmouth and Norfolk communities access to one of the world’s most healthful practices.
Yoga is a form of exercise designed to improve suppleness and strength by
- Reducing muscle tension
- Improving flexibility of the body’s joints and ligaments
- Tone internal organs
Hatha yoga, in particular, is the physical aspect of practicing yoga. The practice emphasizes controlled movement, concentration, flexibility, and conscious breathing.
We offer Hatha Yoga in a Christ-centered setting where you can enjoy relaxation, exercise, and meditation.
Hatha yoga has often been associated with the Hindu religion. While both Hinduism and yoga have their roots in India, yoga is a separate discipline. Dedicated Hatha yoga practitioners may be of any religion or of no religion.
All our classes have a decidedly traditionally American feel so that you can enjoy an opportunity to combine a devotional with Jesus and the healthful practice of yoga.

Christian Yoga has arrived in Hampton Roads!
God formed Man out of the dust of the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life. The Man came alive – a living soul!
–Gen 2:7, The Message
God gives us breath and we Come Alive! In the Bible, the word for “breath” is the same word as the word for “spirit.” Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit and we thus the temples of the Holy Breath. We believe that we honor God with our bodies –through our breath –by practicing yoga.
Keep our bodies healthy as they are the temple of the Holy Spirit
–1 Corinthians 6:19.
Breath of Life Co-Founders, Hope Crane and Liz Crane are health-conscious women who learned that incorporating a Christ-centered atmosphere with yoga created an environment where they could guide their students to nurture their health both physically and spiritually.
Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.
–3 John 1:2, New International Version
Yoga offers ways for you to deepen your walk with God
We offer Christ Centered Yoga classes for all fitness levels to give you an opportunity to become holy and whole.
May God Himself, who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together–spirit, soul, and body–and keep you fit for the coming of our master, Jesus Christ.
–I Thess. 5:23 The Message
